Let's Learn Together [Tutorial]

Sir Thomas Wyatt was born at Allington Castle in Kent, England in 1503. Like his father before him, he worked in the court of Henry VIII. He was admired by many people not only because he is handsome but also because of his skill in music, jousting, and languages. Though Wyatt's poems were popular to many people in Henry's court, they were only published and printed when he died. One of his compositions was  the SECOND SATIRE.

This poem was written with two stanzas which was formed in a tercet pattern. What is a tercet pattern? According to wikipedia, A tercet is composed of three lines of poetry, forming a stanza or a complete poem. English-language haiku is an example of an unrhymed tercet poem. A poetic triplet is a tercet in which all three lines follow the same rhyme, a a a; triplets are rather rare; they are more customarily used sparingly in verse of heroic couplets or other couplet verse, to add extraordinary emphasis.
Sir Thomas Wyatt

From Second Satire
Sir Thomas Wyatt (1503-42)

My mother's maids, when they did sew and spin,
They sang sometimes a song of the field mouse,
That for because their livelihood was but so thin.

Would needs go seek her townish sister's house.
She thought herself endured to much pain:
The stormy blasts her cave so sore did souse...

The rhyme scheme of this poem is a, b, a, - b, a, b.

Let's try to make our own...

Like a Sheep
by: Mark Gil G. Belgira

If I were to dream an impossible thing,
That would be I think to become like a sheep:
Blah, blah , blah so all day I'll sing.

My master will guard me as I sleep,
He watches my every heart's beating.
His promises are true -that my heart should keep.

RECOMMENDATION:
In order for you to make and come up with a good poem, you should bear in mind that in everything you do you should put your HEART! "Don't pretend and try to be a good one but to be honest in making the one."
People might be so anxious about the structure and what style should they use but what really important is you fully expressed your soul in making a poem. "Meaning will come naturally and not made of."

EDDY STOSI written by Mark Gil G. Belgira and Edited by Rodelyn Cadete Pagcaliwagan [Drama]

Narrator: This is a story of a man named Eddy, a man who had been trying so hard to be the best as he can on his job and for his family; his wife and his twelve kids. He thought that the only thing for a man to survive is to work. He is very clever, excellence is what he strives for in everything he does. Hot-tempered and easily irritated with something he doesn't like.He never knew that God has already planned something for him, but because of his pride, his eyes and heart were blinded.
Sherly, a loving and the understanding wife of Eddy, continues on encouraging her husband in spite of all the depression he encounters and leading him to Christ as well. Sherly met a friend who had been the reason for her acceptance in Christ which will be the way that Eddy will soon accept Christ as his Lord and Savior.
Eddy has an important meeting today at 7 am with the President of Discipline’s Company. Their support will be a big help for them to increase more of their publications and productions. Eddy thought that this could be the way for him to be promoted on his job. But God caused Eddy to be in his deep sleep that’s why he has forgotten to wake up early and he was already one hour late to the meeting.

SCENE 5
EARLY MORNING
Narrator: Eddy, up to the present time, is still waiting for the calls about his applications for the jobs. He is a little bit tired of it and being hopeful after what happened weeks ago, he now begins to lose hope.
            Sherly was really worried about her husband. She was praying every night for him. She knows how eager her husband is, to have a work and the only thing that might help Eddy is to accept Christ as his Lord and Savior. This might be a way for him to know all the possible answers for his doubts.
Early in the morning, Eddy heard voices singing.
Eddy: (while removing the morning glory in his both eyes) What is that noise? Where did you buy that song? (he opened his eyes and he saw few people in group staring at him so he ran in shame. He waved his hands to call Sherly). What is this all about?
Sherly: We are doing a bible study.
Eddy: Bible study?
Sherly: My friend invited me to go in their church on Sunday. Can you be with us honey? I am sure you will also be glad. I found out that there is one and only true God who can help us in every aspect of our life. He is a sweet lover for he did everything to save us from sin. He sacrificed his life for us and he is Jesus. I felt very satisfied in Him.
Eddy: (laughing and touching Sherly’s forehead). Are you sick? You are not like this before. There are much important than this okay? That person or God you call as Jesus cannot work but me. So I need to look for a job because we have nothing but a bankrupt life. Okay?
Sherly: No, honey. He is the answer for everything. You should at least try it.
Eddy: I have never asked him a question so I do not need his answers. I have to go.

Marriage

Please, do not abandon me;
for you're precious than money.
Terrible things might have come,
if I'll lose you on my palm.

I want you to be my wife;
-though, it means take its strife.
I know this is what is right;
Just for you, I'll do my might.

Whoever tries to harm you,
surely be brought to the pit:
Blessing to those who pursue,
the knowledge that makes them wit.
